THE SCOTTISH Association of Young Farmers Club's west region Talent Spot competition, which was due to take place at the SECC in Glasgow this weekend, has been cancelled due to concerns over Coronavirus.
The much-loved competition – which was won last year by Carluke YFC – is the most recent in a string of cancellations announced in light of the Scottish Government's advice against gatherings of over 500 people.
SAYFC CEO Penny Montgomerie commented: "We're extremely disappointed to have to make this decision and unfortunately didn't have any other option. The health of our audience and participants is of paramount concern and we feel that running the event would impose a possible risk.
"We are hopeful to reschedule the event for later in the year, however this is yet to become clear with discussions ongoing," she added.
