A SPELL of good weather was warmly welcomed by Kenny Macleod who runs a croft in Leverburgh on the isle of Harris, as he fed his expectant ewes overlooking the Sound of Harris and the Minch.
After an extremely tough wet and windy winter in the Outer Hebrides, the weather is beginning to look up for crofters with lambing around the corner.
In next week's Scottish Farmer we take a look at crofting on Lewis and Harris and how individuals are diversifying their practices in order to maintain this traditional way of life.
