GAME and WILDLIFE Conservation Trust Scotland has launched an online 'super auction' to replace the fundraiser events cancelled by Covid-19.

There are 161 auction lots on offer – with a guide value of more than £130,000 – ranging from game shooting, stalking and fishing in all shapes and sizes, to treats like a Porsche experience; signed books by Alexander McCall Smith; scallops; and VIP passes for an Elton John concert in Glasgow.

The auction is now live on the GWCT website and will run through until Thursday, May 14.

“The Trust needs its annual Scottish auction, which would under normal circumstances take place with a fabulous black-tie dinner at Prestonfield House, and its regional auctions in Grampian and Highland, to raise funds to support its invaluable research across many aspects of Scotland’s game, wildlife and the environment," said GWCT Scottish auction chairman, Bryan Johnston.

“The continuing generosity of those who have donated an amazing selection of lots and of our sponsors both regionally and nationally, coupled with some creative thinking, means that we can still host a tremendous jamboree online, and that’s what we have decided to do.

“This format has its advantages, not least that bidders can join in from the comfort of their own sofa, or home office," he continued. "Indeed, this year we will have global reach and our friends and supporters worldwide can browse the catalogue and bid – and we hope they will."
