SCOTTISH AGRICULTURAL businesses can play their part in supporting the next generation by offering a career gateway through an apprenticeship.
Financial support from Lantra Scotland of up £6000 per year towards the cost of an apprentices's salary is available, but the deadline is this Monday, November 23.
Funding is available to agricultural businesses that can demonstrate an opportunity to improve their business through the employment of a pre-apprentice, modern apprentice or technical apprentice and have not previously employed an apprentice. Businesses must agree to undertake an initial skills assessment, monthly checks on progress and a final interview which demonstrates the benefits that the apprentice has brought to the business
The level of support will be dependent on the identification of an appropriate apprentice and the support of an appropriate training provider. The application can cover a pre-apprentice, modern or technical apprentice.
