COYLTON Show is looking forward to staging it's annual event in the usual showground, Drumdow Holmfield, on August 21.

As the SF went to press, we were notified that the show would in fact now be open to spectators, as well as exhibitors, and refreshments would be available on the day.

A meeting staged last month by the Coylton and Stair Farmers Society, had decided that a ‘Behind Closed Doors’ event for exhibitors and competitors for mounted events, cattle and sheep sections would be held, due to the Covid restrictions in place at that time.

However, the committee are delighted that these restrictions have been lifted and the show can return to a normal format, but with Covid measures in place to ensure the safety of all attending.

Track and trace will be in operation on the day, as well as numerous hand sanitising stations available on-site. Spectators and exhibitors will also require an NHS QR code to scan on entry.

Mounted events will begin from 9.30am and cattle and sheep classes will commence from 10.30. Entries are being taken ahead of the show but late entries will be accepted on the show day. Pet classes and the kids race will also be returning. Exhibitors and spectators are encouraged to keep an eye on the Coylton Agricultural Show Facebook page for any further updates.
