On Tuesday, Skipton Auction Mart held their opening show and sale of 4770 gimmers, which achieved an overall average of £177.43, up £152.05 on the year.
Topping the sale at £300 was the champion pen of Continentals which were home-bred Texels from Thomas Boothman, Linton Hall Farm.
The second and third prized show pens came from Richard and Mark Ireland, and Owen Wells, Monyash in Derbyshire, and both made £215.
Leading the North of England Mule gimmers was a pen from the Ribble Valley-based Greenhalgh family from Rugglesmere, Bashall Eaves, which later realised £230. The same home also sold the second place in this section which topped at £232.
