A new female record for a Blue Texel has been achieved at the Northern Supreme show and sale held at Borderway Mart, Carlisle, with Whatmore Eccles selling for 22,000gns.
With Blue Texel females dominating the day’s top prices and lead averages, it was the runner-up female and reserve overall at the pre-sale show, Whatmore Eccles, that dominated the sale ring. The February 2020-born gimmer from Steve and Sara Gibbons’ Brecon-based flock is sired by Whatmore Bentley and bred from the Whatmore Yorkie-sired ewe, Whatmore Battenburg. She headed home with Henry Jewitt to join his Sunnybank flock, at Barnard Castle, Co Durham.
