Lawrie and Symington's sale of suckled calves and store cattle included the show and sale of spring born calves, where the champion a 410kg British Blue stot from R Simpson and Son, Mains of Creuchies, later realised £1210.

The same home also topped the pence per kg section among the stots at 227.3p for a 332kg Limousin cross, to average 244p.

Judge, Alan Pettigrew, Faskine, found his reserve champion in a heifer from J Robertson and Co, Newton of Logierait, which made £1110, however topping the trade at £1310 was a 450kg Limousin cross heifer from RM Adam and Son, Auldallan, and to 322.7p per kg for a 282 kg heifer from Osborne Farms to average 239p.

Among the store cattle bullocks and heifers cashed in at 233p and 236p respectively, heifers led the proceedings when selling to £1430 for a 586kg Limousin cross from W McLaren, Muirhouses and to 288p for a 400kg British Blue from DR Hood, Middlehill.

British Blues dominated the bullocks when achieving £1355 and 278p for 495kg and 410kg entries respectively from the DR Hood, Middlehill.

Young Bulls (16) – Sold to a top of £790 for a 350 kg Limousin Cross from Osborne Farms, Balmadies and to 237p for a pen of 8 253 kg Lincoln Reds from A. Mylius & Partners of St. Fort to average 226p.
