A SUCCESSFUL festive shopping event at Kilduff Farm has raised over £2300 for farming charity RSABI.

The Calder family's first ever Christmas shopping festive event welcomed 200 people and some of East Lothian’s finest makers, creators and producers to the farm in the heart of East Lothian. It was also an opportunity to spread some festive cheer after a difficult year for the local farming community.

Organiser Lucy Calder explained: “2021 was a difficult year for the East Lothian farming community, losing two well respected and much loved members of the farming community in the space of just a few days.

“RSABI provides much needed support to families involved in agriculture across Scotland. We have felt helpless in the aftermath of these devastating losses so this felt like an opportunity for us to do something to support the charity and raise awareness around the vital work RSABI do while remembering our friends at this particularly challenging time of year."

She added that it was also a special way to round up the year. "We loved bringing people together for a festive evening on the farm and have raised an incredible amount of money for such an important cause and we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who made it happen.”

The Calders hope that the event will become a regular fixture in the East Lothian festive calendar.
