In addition to this, the co-op will be increasing its milk price by a further 1ppl from May 1, taking its May price on a manufacturing standard litre to 37.75ppl, including that member premium and regenerative bonus.

Farmer director and vice-chairman, Robert Craig, said: “As a farmer co-operative our focus is to add value to our members’ milk, and this further increase will be welcomed. We remain committed to paying out additional income to our members, as soon as we can, and we recognise the urgent need to pass this on due to the exceptional cost inflation they are seeing at farm level.”
