Drumhilla Superstar lived up to his name at the NI Limousin cattle club and NI Young Limousin breeders Rising Stars show when securing the supreme championship for Gareth Corrie, Newtownards.

This April 2021 born bull is sired by Ampertaine Majestic, out of the 15,000gns Glenrock Northernstar and is a full brother to the 9000gns Drumhilla Rambo, which was reserve intermediate champion at last year's October Carlisle bull sale.

The blue and white ticket was awarded to the young heifer, Boleyn Sasha from Michael Savage, Ballynahinch. This January 2021 born girl is a daughter of Ampertaine Elgin and out of Drummin Libby.

In the junior section it was Glenmarshal Snapper from father and son duo, Trevor and William Shields, that worked her way to the top. This heifer is a result of the 26,000gns Foxhillfarm Ourbest sire onto Homebyres Duplicity.

Pipped at the post was Claragh Sapphire from John and Paul Rainey. This heifer is sired by Ampertaine Foreman and out of Claragh Ignite.

The commercial section was once again won by JCB Commercials with their Ampertaine Elgin sired heifer, 50 shades of Grey. This blue/grey heifer was bred by Derrick Forde, Galway and was purchased by the JCB team last November at the ‘Elite commercial haltered cattle sale’ in Stranorlar.

In reserve was Keith and Stephen Williamson with their Castleview Gazelle heifer Déjà vu.

The pairs championships was won by a duo of heifers – Claragh Sofia and Claragh Sapphire –from John and Paul Rainey, with Connor and Ryan Mulholland’s pair – Deerpark Saffron and Deerpark Saturn – following in reserve.

The young handlers class was won by Niall Feeney, with Molly Bradley and Darryl Geary being placed second and third respectively.
