Agriculture is often seen as a male-dominated industry populated by individuals who may regard themselves as ‘tough guys’ and prefer not to talk about their wellbeing, and in particular their mental health.

In an effort to see beneath that macho veneer, fourth year SRUC student Finlay Hogg has made an investigation of farmers' physical and mental health the subject of the honours project that will top off his Rural Business Management degree at Edinburgh.

But Finlay needs farmers' help to map out the issues that impact wellbeing across Scottish agriculture, and with that perspective, discover how the industry can offer adequate support to those most in need.

"I would be very grateful if anyone within Scottish agriculture could participate in this short survey," said Finlay. "There is a link within the survey to a participant information sheet that provides extra detail on the investigation and can be downloaded at your wish.

"Additionally, I require a small number of candidates to participate in a short interview about the topic – please feel free to get in contact through the details provided in the survey."
