Patrick Sleigh, of West Fingask, has received the NFU Scotland North East region Unsung Hero award.
The Aberdeenshire potato and cereals farmer was awarded the gong for his work championing predator control and highlighting the damage which predators can do to livestock and wildlife.
He was also commended for his efforts to improve farm assurance, where he organised a meeting of over 70 farmers this spring. Over the years, Mr Sleigh has sat on a number of committees within the union representing the North East.
Receiving the award he said: “I am very humbled to be recognised and thank everyone very much for it.”
