The electronic cattle management programme and online market place business, Breedr, is to introduce a monthly fee for users.
Farmers who use Breedr to trade 20 or more animals per year will continue to get the programme for free, but those who do not meet the threshold will need to purchase a subscription for £29.50 per month plus VAT.
James Wright, UK country manager for the marketing business, said: "The number of farmers using Breedr has grown from six in January 2019 to more than 7000 and the demands on our customer support team have grown with it. We are now the world's leading individual animal management app.
