Equipment worth around £25,000 has been stolen from a number of farms across the region. 

The first incident took place at sometime between 7pm on March 29 and 7am on March 30 at a farm in Friston. 

Three GPS trackers and three Pro 700 screens were taken from three different tractos and around 300 litres of Ad Blue was also drained out of a container.

The total value of the equipment stolen was about £15,000. 

The second incident took place sometime between 9pm on Monday and 7.15am on Tuesday at a farm in Bedingfield when three GPS screens, a total control screen and three GPS domes were stolen from three tractors.

A third incident which is believed to have taken place sometime between 4pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday at a farm in Hoxne. 

A GPS system was stolen from a tractor - the estimated value is about £10,000. 

Investigations continue and police are currently linking the three incidents.

They also believe those responsible for these had a high degree of knowledge of how to access the site and how to access the units.

Farmers, land owners and businesses that supply the equipment are asked to stay vigilant to any suspicious activity.

Police have issued advice to those with GPS equipment which is as follows:

  • If possible, remove all kit from machines when not in use, especially if the machinery is left out overnight.
  • Review security at your premises, as well as premises where such equipment is serviced and sold
  • Record the serial number and take a digital image of the serial number.
  • Security mark the kit, possibly with a UV marker or permanent black marker, with the name of your location and postcode to make it unattractive to a would-be thief.
