FANS that missed out on tickets for Jim Smith’s two sell out shows at the Tait Hall, Kelso are in luck.

Due to phenomenal demand Jim will park up his tractor once more at Hawick Town Hall on Saturday November 18.

The Perthshire farmer will be sharing anecdotes from his changing world – the past few years have seen him get engaged and become a father for the first time, not to mention farming through Covid and Brexit - as well as treating audiences to his trademark mix of regional accents and impressions.

Jim has quickly established himself as one of the stars of Scottish comedy, with TV credits that include his own BBC Scotland special Jim Smith – Live From Perth and The Farm Diaries, his hugely popular series of mockumentary shorts for iplayer which were picked up for a broadcast run and are set to return later this year.

He also recently fronted the channel’s woodworking challenge show Loggerheads, his first television outing as a presenter

Jim’s live work includes two sell out Fringe runs, as well as his 28-date sell out tour, Back to the Teuchter.

He’s turned his hand to journalism (in between looking after the sheep and cows), interviewing Scottish political party leaders for The Courier in the run up to the May 2021 elections.

Further TV and radio credits include BBC Radio 4’s State of the Nation, BBC Radio Scotland's Breaking The News, and BBC Scotland's Scot Squad.

He also fronted BBC Scotland’s 6 part series Loggerheads and could be seen most recently making his network debut on BBC2 presenting Coast to Coast Food Fest alongside Edith Bowman and Colin Murray.

He said: “Really looking forward to performing for the good people of Hawick, always great crack in the Borders and the nights will be drawing in, so get yourself along to the toon hall and we’ll have a braw night.”
