Scotland’s rural podcast, OnFARM, is celebrating the publication of its 150th episode and in doing so, is setting out to give charities, individuals and organisations across the country a chance to have their own podcast episode.

OnFARM – FARM stands for Food, Agriculture and Rural Matters – was first published in January, 2020, and since then an episode has been released each week of school term time to reach the milestone 150th anniversary in June, 2023.

The podcast was the brainchild of Anna Davies and Ross (Monty) Montague from specialist rural PR firm, Scene and Herd, with technical support and guidance from ex-BBC radio professional, Dave Howard, of Bespoken Media.

“We established OnFARM in order to tell the many and varied stories of rural Scotland,” said Anna. “We have been on a whirlwind journey since then, and we are so grateful to our listeners, sponsors and contributors who have helped us to reach this milestone.”

“We would like to make special mention of our original and longest-running sponsor, solicitors Gillespie Macandrew and also to RHASS (the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland) and livestock health and welfare scientists, the Moredun Foundation, who each commissioned us to make mini-series of podcasts in the dark days of the Covid lockdowns.”

“Now, to mark the occasion of our 150th unique episode, we are joining forces with rural business specialists Bell Ingram to give everyone the chance to have their very own podcast episode. We would love to hear from anyone with a story to tell, be it a charity fundraising effort, a farming innovation, a local legend or anything else that would benefit from a bespoke episode of OnFARM.”

The podcasts are available on all major podcast streaming platforms, or simply by searching OnFARM on any PC or smart device. High-profile guests of previous OnFARM episodes include HRH Princess Anne, the late Doddie Weir and TV personalities, including Amanda Owen, The Yorkshire Shepherdess.

"There are so many stories out there, and we would love to hear from you if you have one to tell,” Anna concluded.
