A pioneering Scottish company aiming to transform building insulation methods has secured a significant six-figure investment.
Sisaltech successfully raised £800,000 in a funding round led by Tricapital Angels, with additional support from Scottish Enterprise.
Based in Midlothian, Sisaltech develops innovative low-carbon insulation products using natural and recycled fibres. These products are highly breathable and particularly well-suited for retrofitting traditional stone buildings.
The company’s Sisalwool range offers versatile applications, including pitched roofs, walls and under suspended timber floors.
Recently crowned as the best product at the VIBES Awards, Sisalwool is already listed by leading retailers like B&Q. This latest investment will enable Sisaltech to expand its operations and meet increasing demand.

The Sisaltech deal marks Tricapital’s fourth investment in as many months, with its angel investor network driving nearly £3 million in funding to some of Scotland’s most forward-thinking young companies.
Recent investments include a seven-figure sum for Aberdeen-based HonuWorx, which is developing autonomous, all-electric submarines to cut costs and emissions for offshore repairs and inspections.
Energy innovator H2CHP secured £600,000 to advance its cutting-edge free-piston engine technology, which generates power without carbon emissions.
Additionally, Skye-based Kaly Group received £300,000 to expand its seaweed farming operations and establish a sustainable seaweed supply chain along Scotland’s west coast.
