NFU Mutual has committed to donating £4 million to both local and national charities in 2025, reinforcing its ongoing support for the challenges faced by front-line charities across the UK.
From 2022 to 2024, the national insurer allocated £3.25m annually to various charities, helping them maintain their essential services for those in need.
In 2025, NFU Mutual will allocate £2.33m through its Agency Giving Fund to support local charities on the front lines. First introduced in 2020 in response to the pandemic, the fund will continue into 2025, providing further support to charities and communities across the UK.
Nick Turner, NFU Mutual's Group chief executive, commented: “NFU Mutual has been supporting our customers, their families, and the communities they live in since 1910.
“We’re a member-based, purpose-led organisation that values the important role our business can play in helping frontline community services, and we’re proud to be increasing our annual charitable giving pledge in 2025.”
NFU Mutual’s Agency and branch offices, with over 280 locations nationwide, will have the opportunity to nominate front-line charities to receive part of the fund, ensuring that donations reach all regions of the UK and are allocated to areas of greatest need.
Additionally, NFU Mutual has pledged £1.2m to the NFU Mutual Charitable Trust, an independent charity established in 1998 to support organisations working in agriculture, rural communities, and the countryside.
Since its creation, the Trust has contributed over £9.7m to a variety of causes, including education, research, social welfare, and poverty relief.
NFU Mutual has also dedicated £100,000 to its Community Champions scheme, supporting causes important to its employees and contributing to staff fundraising and charities close to key office locations.
The final portion of the £4m charity donation, £370,000, will go to The Farm Safety Foundation (Yellow Wellies), a charity founded and funded by NFU Mutual. In celebration of its 10th anniversary, this funding will help the foundation continue its educational programs, research, and campaigns across the UK, focusing on raising awareness and addressing mental health attitudes and behaviours.
