The Nuffield Farming Scholarships Trust has announced that its 2025 Annual Conference will be held at P&J Live in Aberdeen from November 18-20.
Set in one of the UK’s most dynamic agricultural regions, the event will bring together scholars, sponsors, former students and anyone passionate about the future of farming for three days of discussion, fresh ideas and inspiration. Early bird tickets are available until September 5, 2025.
Farm tours
Ahead of the main event, three pre-conference tours will showcase innovation and sustainable land management in the North East. Visits include Duncan Farms, The MacRobert Trust, and Mackie’s of Scotland.
Scottish scholars on stage
This year’s programme will highlight the work of Scottish Nuffield Scholars. Speakers include:
- Emma Patterson Taylor on how farming is perceived by the public.
- Ranald Angus on the role of soil-sequestered carbon in climate action.
- Aoife Behan on procurement policy as a tool for sustainable farming.
- Jock Gibson on producing high-quality meat through 100% pasture and forage systems.
- Wallace Currie on the role of education in building resilient food systems.
Reflecting on his travels, Wallace said: “It’s been 18 of what will be 24 weeks of travel so far. I’ve been to every continent apart from Antarctica! Whilst writing this in a vineyard in Slovenia, I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learnt along the way with you all in God’s country of Scotland come November.”
They will be joined by other UK Scholars covering topics from agri-tech to leadership and regenerative farming.
The Annual Dinner on Wednesday, November 19 will celebrate the Nuffield community with great food, local produce, and ceilidh dancing led by Scotland’s rock ceilidh band, Bahookie.
