Kuhn Farm Machinery has expanded its Multi-Longer range with the introduction of a new 6.1m model, the 6157 e-TPAL, joining the existing Multi-Longer 7457 e-TPAL.

Both machines are telescopic, left-handed and designed specifically with UK and Irish farmers and contractors in mind.

Kuhn’s grassland product specialist, Rhodri Jenkins said: “The 6157 is likely to be a popular model with UK contractors and farmers, offering the right balance of compact dimensions for road work and excellent reach for field hedges and ditches.”

The Multi-Longer 6157 e-TPAL comes as standard with the e-ASSIST system, which maintains a constant cutting head angle for an even, consistent finish. The electronic parallelogram uses sensors to control head position, while an automatic lift float ensures safe and efficient roadside mowing. A hydraulically powered debris blower can also be mounted at the rear to clear trimmings.

“e-ASSIST allows a consistent cutting head angle and arm height regardless of working reach,” Rhodri explains.

“Working on uneven field edges can cause issues whilst trying to maintain a level finish and the e-ASSIST feature aims to make this easier.”

The e-TPAL system also features the EP joystick, which controls all four proportional movements simultaneously. Coupled with KUHN’s VT 61 terminal, operators can monitor key machine data and adjust settings quickly, including the parallelogram movement. A redesigned joystick is set to be introduced soon.

The 6157 e-TPAL comes exclusively with STABILINK axle-mounted brackets, which attach to the tractor in under 15 minutes, providing added stability at full reach. A heavy-duty A-frame is in development.

Operators can choose between a standard 1.2m head or an optional 1.5m head, equipped with 24 or 28 T-flails respectively, allowing the machine to be tailored to individual needs. A tractor weighing at least 5.5t and producing a minimum of 100hp is required.
