Entries are now open for the 2026 Northumberland County Show, it has been announced.
The agricultural event returns to Bywell Hall on May 23, promising visitors a packed day of livestock displays, equestrian events, crafts, and food, with a full list of classes available for viewing and application at www.northcountyshow.co.uk .
Organisers are inviting farmers, stockmen, and exhibitors from across the North to take part, with a wide variety of categories open for competition.
A major highlight of this year’s show is the announcement of David Tite as Champion of Champions judge.
Mr Tite is the society manager of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, which organises the Great Yorkshire Show.
With more than 40 years in the agricultural sector, Mr Tite began his career aged 13 at the Driffield showground and went on to serve as chief executive of the Driffield Agricultural Society before joining the Yorkshire Agricultural Society.
He is also a former national chair of the Association of Show and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO).
Mr Tite said: "It is a tremendous honour to be asked to judge the Champion of Champions at the Northumberland County Show.
"This show has a hard-earned reputation for the quality of its livestock, and I know I will be faced with the very best the North of England has to offer."
The Grand Parade will see the winners of the cattle, sheep, heavy horse, alpaca, pig, and rabbit sections compete for the supreme title in front of a large crowd.
Mr Tite said: "To win at this level, an animal needs more than just perfect conformation.
"I am looking for excellence in every department, but also that elusive 'spirit' and presence that sets a true champion apart from the rest.
"To be crowned the best of all the champions is a career-defining moment for any breeder, and I take that responsibility very seriously."
This year’s show will feature sections spanning heavy horses, pedigree cattle, home crafts, industrial classes, and more.
Exhibitors are encouraged to check entry requirements and deadlines early to avoid disappointment.
With more than 300 trade stands, main arena events and nationally renowned agricultural sections, the Northumberland County Show is a highlight of the rural calendar and a major draw for the region.
