A fine run on well behaved sheep at Cashlie gave Michael Gallagher top billing with Hillrunner Rex and Dalriada Grace, respectively.

Despite a day of snow and high winds, the North Country Cheviot hoggs ran very well on a flat, haugh course and responded well to good dog work.

Michael’s Rex (M Gallagher’s Avon Roy, E Nilsson’s Hillrunner Ivy) ran out and lifted flawlessly, fetched well and had a good drive with just a wiggle as he put the sheep through the drive away gate too fault it. The hoggs were touchy at the pen and when one awkward had to be encouraged in, Rex persuaded her nicely, secured the packet and completed his winning run with a good shed.

His Grace (M Gallagher’s Hillrunner Shep and Val) too, got off to a very good start, and although she had minor wavers on the course, good work at the pen and shed saw her into second place.

After a quick start, Mike Watt jnr’s Jess (S Wayman’s Tom and Sunset Pip) recovered well and took her sheep calmly round the course with just minor wavers on the fetch and drive. A good pen and shed finished her run in third place.
