Jeremy Clarkson has hit back at a BBC Springwatch legend following their rant about Clarkson's Farm.
The 66‑year‑old, who runs Diddly Squat Farm near Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire, came under fire from Chris Packham during a recent Celebrity Gogglebox episode.
Mr Packham was shown watching the illustrated opening sequence of the Amazon Prime series, which follows Mr Clarkson’s attempts to run his Cotswolds farm.
He told Celebrity Gogglebox: "Already, right, that’s not what a farm looks like.
"Most farms are horrible monocultures, which have been sprayed with deadly chemicals time and time again.
"The ground is pumped full of fertiliser, and loads of the animals are indoors in crates, being crushed and kept in the dark.
"That’s an idealistic view of a farm, and it puts the wrong idea in people’s minds, and that’s only the titles!"
Mr Packham then turned to his stepdaughter Megan McCubbin and asked: "What’s my blood pressure?"
Mr Clarkson has now responded in a column for The Sun, insisting the naturalist knows full well what his Oxfordshire holding looks like.
He wrote in The Sun: "The endlessly angry Chris Packham went on Gogglebox this week and erupted in blind fury about the Winnie the Pooh‑ish opening credits to my farming programme.
"‘That’s not what a farm looks like’. No, Chris, it’s a drawing.”
Mr Clarkson went on to claim Mr Packham had visited Diddly Squat Farm in 2012, spending the day "foraging and bird watching" in his woods.
He said: "It’s b******s and Chris knows it’s b******s because, back in 2012, he came to Diddly Squat and spent the day in our woods, foraging and bird watching.
"If there had been some animals in a crate, being crushed, I’m sure he would have noticed and said something."
