Graham's Family Dairy has recalled several bottles of semi-skimmed milk after traces of veterinary antibiotics were detected in the product.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said the precautionary recall affects one-pint, one-litre and two-litre bottles of Graham's Family Dairy semi-skimmed milk with a best-before date of July 31, 2026.

The affected products have been sold in England and Scotland.

According to the FSA, the milk may contain trace amounts of veterinary medicines, including penicillin, making it potentially unsafe for people with allergies to penicillin or other antibiotics.

In a statement, Graham's Family Dairy said: "This is a precautionary measure we have taken as there is a small risk a trace level of antibiotics may be present in the milk which could cause a reaction to consumers with an allergy to antibiotics."

Customers who have purchased the affected milk are being urged not to drink it.

The company added: "If you have purchased any of these products, please do not consume. Instead, please return the milk to the store purchased from for refund."

Graham's said the recall applies only to the specified pack sizes and best-before date, with no other products or date codes affected.

The FSA said retailers will display recall notices in stores and online explaining why the products are being withdrawn.

Consumers should return the affected milk to the retailer from which it was purchased to receive a full refund.
