East Kilbride Show again proved a major attraction, drawing a strong line-up of livestock across the cattle, sheep and heavy horse sections.
Claiming the overall cattle and heavy horse championship under judge Willie Hamilton, Outerwood, Kilwinning, was the Clydesdale filly, Fairybank Barbie from Willie and Janice Dunbar, East Fairybank, Newhouse. Home-bred, this two-year-old has enjoyed a successful season, adding the supreme to a growing list of championships. She is by Doura Magic Touch and out of Doura Ballerina.
Supreme dairy was William Boyd’s Holstein, Veronica, from, Dechmont. The Koepon Debut daughter calved in January, is currently yielding 38 litres a day and is projected to produce 11,000 litres.
Judges Alister Meikle and Alan Lambie, found their supreme sheep in the Suffolk champion, a gimmer from Jamie Kerr and Emma MacDonald. By Treforian Rocket and out of a Cairness-bred ewe, she was champion at Stewarton, Dalry and, most recently, Fenwick.

Dairy cattle (Judge: G Redpath, Murrays, Pathhead). Champion – W Boyd, with the Holstein first-calver, Veronica. She is a daughter of Koepon Debut and is currently giving 38 litres. Reserve – C Gray, Drumtall, East Kilbride, with the October-born heifer calf, Boclair Lamborghini May. She is a daughter of Fepro Lamborghini and out of Boclair Lambda May 3. She was fourth at the Royal Highland Show. Heifer in milk – W Boyd. Calf born after Dec 1, 2025, calf born after Oct 1, 2025 – C Gray.
Continental cattle (Judge: A Weir, Castlemill, Castlecary). Champion – J and Aimee Young, Over Auchentiber, Stewarton, with the two-year-old Limousin heifer, Haltcliffe Vanity. She is by Westpit Omaha and out of Haltcliffe Rachel. Reserve from the same home was the eight-month-old British Blue bullock, Auchentiber Vulcan. He is by Solway View Firecracker and bred from Auchentiber Rowan. First at Ayr and Biggar. All classes – J and Aimee Young.
Commercial cattle (Judge A Weir). Champion – R and J Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill, Chapelton, with the home-bred Limousin cross British Blue yearling heifer, Bonnie Blue ET. She is a daughter of the stock bull Springfield Mason and out of a Gunnerfleet dam. First at Stars of the Future. Reserve from the same exhibitors was the home-bred Limousin cross Belgian Blue heifer, Hot Stuff. She was first as a calf at LiveScot. Bullock calf, bullock – L Clark, West Shawtonhill, Chapelton. Heifer, bred – R and J Hamilton.
Highland cattle (Judge: E McKay, Balfron Station). Champion – S and J McMinn, Gatemoor, Dundonald, with the yearling heifer, Lady Alma 19 of Pollok. She is a daughter of Brogach Dubh of Pollok and out of Lady Alma 11 of Pollok. Reserve – Glasgow City Council, with Lady Alma 9 of Pollok. This fifth-calver is by Cliadhamh Mor of Balmoral and out of Lady Alma 4 of Pollok. Cow, heifer three-years-old, calf – Glasgow City Council. Heifer one-year-old – S and J McMinn.
Texel (Judge: A Meikle, Helentongate, Symington). Champion – W Boyd, with a home-bred shearling tup sired by Cambwell Gigolo. First outing. Reserve – D Whyte, Newton Mearns, with a gimmer. A daughter of Clanfield Golden and out of an Auldhouseburn ewe, she was champion here last year and at Neilston and Craigie. Aged tup, tup, ewe lamb, group – W Boyd. Ewe – W Baird, Floors, Eaglesham. Gimmer – D Whyte. Tup lamb – M and G Ballantyne, East Cauldcoats, Strathaven.
Suffolk (Judge: A Meikle). Champion and sheep inter-breed – J Kerr and Emma MacDonald, Kingford flock, Broom, Stewarton, with a gimmer. She is by Treforian Rocket and out of a Cairness ewe. Sheep inter-breed at Stewarton and Fenwick and reserve inter-breed at Dalry. Reserve from the same exhibitors was a home-bred ewe lamb by Howgillfoot New Approach. All classes – J Kerr and Emma MacDonald.
Border Leicester (Judge: A Meikle). Champion – D Whyte, with a home-bred gimmer by Clola Double Deal, out of a Muirmouth dam. Third at the Royal Highland. Reserve from the same home was a tup purchased at Kelso and a former male champion at the Royal Highland. All classes – D Whyte.
Blackface (Judge: A Lambie, Flemington, West Linton). Champion – G, S and J Donald, Windhill, Sandford, with a home-bred two-crop ewe sired by a £1000 Craigdarroch and out of a £5000 Elmscleugh-sired dam. Reserve from the same home was a ewe lamb, also by a Craigdarroch tup, this time out of a £2200 Dalblair-sired ewe. Tup, tup lamb – G Frame. Ewe, gimmer, ewe lamb, group, bred – G, S and J Donald.
Bluefaced Leicester (Judge: A Lambie). Champion – D Bryson, Laigh Logan, with a home-bred gimmer sired by an £1800 Libberton tup. She was reserve at Newmilns and Fenwick. Reserve from the same home was a tup lamb sired by Giants Causeway Armani. All classes – D Bryson.
Mules (Judge: A Lambie). Champion – H and J Patterson, East Dykes, Strathaven, and G Donald, Windhill, Strathaven, with a gimmer sired by a £32,000 Skelgate tup. Reserve inter-breed sheep at Dunblane. Reserve was from the same home, was a one-crop ewe purchased from RJ Fallows and Sons, Cockrig, Lanark. All classes – H and J Patterson and G Donald.
Prime lambs (Judge: A Lambie). Champion – Jack Donald (11), Windhill, with a Mule cross Beltex lamb. Sole entry.
Beltex (Judge: A Meikle). Champion – R and J Hamilton, with the gimmer Mid Shawtonhill Lisa ET, sired by Lurg Juno and bred from Tweeddale Genine which was purchased at a Carlisle in-lamb sale. Lisa will forward for the Beltex Scotland sale at Lanark next month. Reserve was a shearling tup from the same home. Mid Shawtonhill Lawless ET, by the same tup is bred from Shawtonhill Frankie ET. He will also be at the Beltex Scotland sale. Shearling tup, gimmer – R and J Hamilton. Tup lamb, ewe, ewe lamb, group – M and G Ballantyne.
AOB continental sheep (Judge: A Meikle). Champion – W Baird and R Hamilton, Mid Shawtonhill, with the Dutch Spotted shearling tup, Lochlad I Am Maximus, a son of Lochlad Gladiator bred from Lochlad Florencia. Reserve from W Baird was a home-bred Dutch Spotted four-crop ewe. Shearling tup, ewe, gimmer, ewe lamb, group – W Baird. Tup lamb – Caitlin Wilson.

Reserve – S Greenhill, Leuchars, Fife, with the six-year-old mare Fordelhill Limelight. She is by Glebeview Sir Charles and out of Fordelhill Heather. Former champion at the Great Yorkshire, Aberdeen and Kinross. Gelding – Katie Connelly. Male bred, brood mare, foal – S Greenhill. Yeld mare – A Stewart.
