A Blackface gimmer from Rhoda Munro, Croft 1, Mull, was crowned supreme at Sunart and District’s annual Strontian Show.
Out of a home-bred ewe, she is by a £6000 Lurg tup purchased two years ago. First in her class at Lorn as a ewe lamb, she stood second at Bunessan and Lorn, this year.
Reserve overall was the commercial cattle champion, a 12-week-old Limousin cross bull calf from David Wright, Woodend Croft, Ardgour. It is sired by Huntershall Ppendragon.
The four-year-old cow, Siusan Ruadh 68 of Pollock, from Stacia Danielson, Ar Leirsinn Highlands, topped the Highland cattle section. Brought out by Heather Cameron, the cow is by Prionnsa Dubh 2 of Balmoral and out of Siusan Ruadh 57 of Pollock.
