Fendt is updating its IDEAL combine range for MY27 with increased cleaning and separation capacity, alongside a series of durability improvements designed to reduce total cost of ownership for UK and Irish operators.

The latest changes build on developments introduced for the 2026 model year, with Fendt reporting a 25% increase in cleaning capacity from its CyclonePlus cleaning system.

The system, introduced for MY26, features a redesigned pre-sieve with 1.0m² of concave area, sieves that are 8% wider and a revised airflow concept.

“The new CyclonePlus cleaning system that was implemented for MY26 has performed well this harvest,” says Fendt’s Ed Dennett.

“Together, these changes increase cleaning capacity by approximately 25%.”

Fendt has also reduced the number of IDEALbalance cleaning configurations from five to one, simplifying crop conversion and allowing operators to switch between grain and maize with only a sieve change.

According to Fendt, customers using the new cleaning system have reported improved grain quality and lower losses across a range of settings.

An optional slope performance kit is also available to improve crop distribution across the top sieve when harvesting on side slopes.

More separation area

The IDEAL 8 and IDEAL 9 also receive changes to the Helix processor, with all blanking plates removed and replaced by finger separation grates.

This increases total separation area by 27% on the IDEAL 8 and 12% on the IDEAL 9.

The change means all four IDEAL models now share the same rotor configuration.

Durability is another focus of the MY27 updates, with a Hi-Wear package now available across the entire IDEAL range.

Wear plates in the feed area have been upgraded from stainless steel to Hardox, while the front wear plate and bolt guard are also manufactured from Hardox.

Fendt says the changes are intended to extend the service life of key wear components and reduce the combine’s total cost of ownership.

An expanded Hi-Wear option adds a stainless-steel base plate for the crop elevator and hard-chromed augers throughout the machine. Fendt recommends this specification particularly for operators harvesting large areas of maize and soya beans.

The front rotor scraper wear plates also gain a redesigned mounting system using self-locking nylon nuts and strength-class 10.9 bolts. The company says the new arrangement provides a more stable fixing under torque and removes the need for additional welding.

New residue management option

For operators working in maize, Fendt has introduced a new straw and chaff spreader kit featuring two hydraulically driven centrifugal discs with adjustable spreading width.

The system distributes crop residues without shredding and can be fitted in place of the straw chopper and spreader.

“This can be fitted in place of the straw chopper and spreader to help reduce unnecessary wear when working in maize,” says Ed.

The MY27 IDEAL range also receives a new standard radiator for the MotionShift transmission, improving oil cooling during long road journeys and operation on steep gradients.

“These updates reflect what our customers and operators tell us matters most; keeping grain quality consistent, reducing the time spent on machine adjustments, and lowering the cost of running the combine over its working life,” Ed says.

“The CyclonePlus cleaning system combined with the durability improvements for MY27 mean the Fendt IDEAL range is now a more capable and cost-effective machine for UK and Irish harvest conditions.”
