Paul Deakin MBE has been appointed head of field services at the Cattle Information Service (CIS), taking over from Janette Mathie, who retired earlier this month.

Joining from Kingshay, Mr Deakin brings considerable dairy industry experience to the post and will lead the CIS area manager team, as well as driving the commercial side of the business.

His previous work in key account management for dairy services is expected to support CIS as it looks to strengthen strategic relationships and grow sales across its products and services. Away from work, he is kept busy on the family farm in Cornwall.

CIS provides milk recording and bovine health testing services for farmers across Great Britain, giving livestock farmers, nutritionists and vets the data needed to measure, monitor and manage herd performance.

Mr Deakin said: “It is a real privilege to join the team and I am very much looking forward to helping drive continued innovation, performance and customer satisfaction.”
