Dyfed-Powys Police and the Heath and Safety Executive are investigating after a farm worker was killed during an incident at a Pembrokeshire farm.

Pembrokeshire Coroner, Gareth Lewis heard this week that Ciprian Vasilovici lost his life following an ‘incident’ at Good Hook Farm, Narberth Road, Haverfordwest, on July 24 this year.

Paramedics and firefighters attended the scene, but Mr Vasilovici sadly did not survive his injuries.

Mr Vasilovici, a Romanian national, lived with his wife and young baby at Good Hook Farm, where he also worked.

A post-mortem examination undertaken by Dr John Murphy at Glangwli Hospital on July 29 gave the primary provisional causes of death as brain injury.

Mr Lewis heard that there was currently a joint investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) underway into the exact circumstances of the incident.

This involved voluntary interviews with farm workers and witness statements taken from five witnesses, as well as a specialist investigation of the scene.

Mr Lewis said that Mr Vasilovici had died an unnatural death and that, as coroner, he would need to consider the findings of the joint investigation before matters could proceed any further.

He opened the inquest and adjourned it for six months for the police and HSE investigation to take place.
