John and David Brewster’s Boclair Holsteins, based at Bearsden, will represent Scotland as one of seven finalists through to the national and final round of the Holstein UK Premier Herd Competition.

The herd earned its place after coming through the Scottish qualifier, with the overall winner of the prestigious award to be announced during the National Holstein Show at UK Dairy Day on Wednesday, September 16, at Telford International Centre.

Boclair was the overall reserve winner of the competition last year.

The seven herds reaching the final are:

  • Scotland – Boclair, J & D Brewster, Lanarkshire
  • Northern Ireland – Ards, W & A Patton, County Down
  • Wales – Waliswood, Paul, Bessie & Bryn Williams, Carmarthenshire
  • Eastern – Corringham, RV Winter & Sons, Lincolnshire
  • Western – Styche, Seaton Farms, Shropshire/Cheshire
  • Northern – Wormanby, Wormanby Farms Ltd, Cumbria
  • Southern – Beaconhill, O & R Reed, Devon

The national round was judged by last year’s winner, David Booth, of the Feizor herd.
