RATHER than cull goats which have been damaging plantations in the Loch Lomond National Park, one of the charitable landowners in the area, the RSPB, has taken to shooting up to 50 Billy goats with contraceptive darts which will render them infertile for up to three years.
There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that the programme is to be extended to target the growing number of hooligans who create mess and mayhem in the area over the summer months. That is a great pity!
