SIR, – As a long-standing member of the Scottish Crofting Federation, I endorse these views as it is clear to me that the current SCF approach is divisive and counter-productive.
There are many crofters who do not support all SCF policies yet they are still entitled to express their views. I feel that the interests of all crofters would be far better served by a policy of communications and conciliation and hope that the SCF would acknowledge that there are other views within crofting which, through contrary to the SCF’s policies, are still valid.
