Sir
I am very pleased to support Jonnie Hall’s statement about the CAP at the Agri- affairs meeting last week (SF March 16).
The CAP was originally intended to give income support to the many small farms on the continent, especially in France and was never suitable for the UK.
Although some farmers have benefitted from the CAP, its impact on farming as a whole in the UK, has been detrimental. Brexit gives us the chance to have an agricultural policy which is suitable for the UK and I continue to support those who want to leave the EU.
