THE RE-INVENTED Lismore Show – resurrected for the first time in decades – was deemed a great success, despite some wet weather, with 75 sheep and 40 head of cattle forward for judging.

According to one of the organisers, Neil Carmichael, this was far more than expected, with a turnout of more than 200 people who braved a ‘wild day’.

James Carmichael won the new overall champion shield, made by Neil from Lismore Ash in the shape of the island. This success came from his spring-born heifer calf, which beat the sheep champion, John Carmichael’s Blackface lamb, as judged by Drew Brown, from Castle Douglas.
