A FIRST showing of dairy cattle in the new LiveScot formula proved a big hit, with nine forward in a strong heifer class.
But it was the red and white senior cow winner, John Adamson's Swaites Nice Girl, from Swaites, Lanark, that headed the show of dairy cattle which was instigated by the Lanarkshire Holstein Club following the loss of its own show for several years.
The winner is a third calver, by Willsbro Red Razzle, calved in July and has two big lactations to try and follow on with as she gave 11,000 litres as a heifer and 14,000 litres with her second calf.
Runner-up was Russell Gray's Langside Kelly 48, a daughter of the home-bred sire Langside Gold Major, from Langside, Kirkfieldbank, Lanark, a second calver.
