Close competition for the top awards in the West of Scotland Holstein Club's annual herds event judged by Jim Boyd, Dechmont, saw Alistair and Alexander Park's Patterton herd from Brownhill, Tarbolton, win the awards for the top team of cows and the best home-bred team.

The duo also won the trophy for the best cow with Patterton Feber Baby

Just pipped at the post for the top team was Jim Kennedy's, Stair herd from Carngillan.

Best heifer was Ewan Kennedy's Clydeview Mogul Barbie from Perryston. Mr Kennedy's Clydeview herd also won the award for the most points having earlier won the award for the best group of heifers, top family group and the lead 40-tonne cow. Jim Kennedy's Stair herd was reserve overall.
