Annick Trixibelle 24 and Islavale Kenya were the judge, Simon Key's two top choices in the Simmental ring.

Annick Trixibelle 24 bagged the senior title for Lachlan Quarm, Holehouse, Irvine, Ayrshire, with this being his first time of exhibiting at Stars. His yearling heifer is a daughter of the 15,000gns Wolfstar Gold Digger, which was purchased at Stirling bull sales in February, 2017, and the second calf from Annick Trixibelle 16.

Just behind in the seniors was Denizes Daffoldil, from Michael Barlow, Littlewood Hall, Preston, Lancs. This August, 2018-born heifer was second at Agri-Expo as well as many other local wins this past summer. She is by Blackford Galaxy, a herd sire which was purchased from Anne Macpherson privately and out of Omorga Fabia.

Islavale Kenya starred among the juniors for the Stronachs, from Berryleys, Grange, brought out by Aimee Stronach. Their seven-month-old heifer was on its first outing and is a daughter of Curaheen Giant, which was purchased in Southern Ireland and out of Islavale Delia, which has been a consistent breeder of good cattle in the herd.

Mr Quarm also took reserve junior champion, this time with the 10-month-old bull, Annick Klondyke. He is also on his first outing and is sired by Corskie Callum, which was purchased at Stirling bull sales for 18,000gns after he stood reserve senior champion, and out of Annick Lydia's Cathy.
