The Kintyre Agricultural Society’s 2018 reserve Holstein from Gavin Semple, Kilkeddan, went one better to win the breed championship and the supreme overall at this year’s Winter Show at Ballygreggan, which saw five calves and 20 cows and heifers forward for the event judged by Willie Ralston.

This was a fifth calver by Goldenoaks Alexander, that calved in October.

Reserve was Peter Littleson’s heifer by AltaCEO.

In a keenly contested Ayrshire section, Thomas Cameron, Gartvaigh produced the champion in the form of a sixth-calver by West Mossgiel Athos that scooped the same award last year. Mr Cameron also produced the reserve winner in a September-calved heifer, by Burdette.
