A new trophy dating back to 1921, will be presented at next month’s Peebles Show.
The silver coffee pot, gifted by Christine Mitchell, of Avonvale Livestock, in Gloucestershire, was won by her great grand-father George Anderson in 1921 for showing Cheviot sheep at West Linton Show.
George was a shepherd on the Glenormiston Estate, having lived into his 90s at Innerleithen. He made news in the Peebles newspaper when he knitted socks for the troops in the WW1, and unfortunately lost his son in the war.
