The Beef Shorthorn took the prestigious champions of champions over the light horse, Clydesdale, Highland cattle, sheep and dairy cattle supremes on a points based system by the section judges.
Among the sheep lines it was a five-crop park-type Cheviot ewe form Cameron Jackson and Rachel Hamilton, Dunrod, Inverkip, that was awarded the overall by the umpire, Alan Clark, Garngour, Lesmahagow.
"For a five-crop ewe she has no holes, she was a comfortable winner, following on with the Blackface tup that is heading places, it is a great looking shearling," he said.
This ewe was bought privately from David Pittendreigh after standing champion at the Welsh National breed show and reserve at the Royal Welsh in 2019. She is a daughter of Carruthers Rib Tickler and out of a Shoestanes Newboy sired-dam.
The Blackface shearling in reserve from John, Sharon, Alec, Grant and Lorna, MacPherson, Balliemeanoch, Dalmally, was bought from Stirling last year from Aberuchil. Champion at Lorn Show, he is by a £40,000 Dalchirla owned in partnership with Connachan and Lurgan, and out of a ewe by a £16,000 Loughash.
Claiming the dairy inter-breed title was the Ayrshire heifer, Mid Ascog Patricia from Charles McAlister, Mid Ascog. This freshly calved heifer is sired by Bruchag Starman and out of a home-bred dam by Muirston Top Brass.
"She is so correct and well made and looks like she is going to last for many lactations, not to take anything away from the Holstein that was a really milky cow that I admired for her dairyness," said Mr Clark.
The Holstein came in the form of a second calver from Sandy Robertson, Balliecurrie, having last calved in June she is now giving 55kg. She features the sire, Stantons Chief onto a REW Seaver sired-dam.
Mill Miss Kerliin made her mark among the Clydesdales ring when she took home the supreme for John McMillian, Greenan Mill. This nine-year-old is a daughter of Dillars Scottie Boy, out of the show horse, Mill Miss Ellie Bell, and stood reserve champion at Ayr Show in 2017.
