What a week it has been for Tom McMillan and the team from Eskechraggan, Bute, who added to their show success following their supreme win at Bute, earlier that week, with another show championship this this time for their two-year-old Clydesdale filly, Eskechraggan Lady Janet.

Having already stood champion at Kintyre Show the previous week, as well as fifth at the Royal Highland and second at last year's Clydesdale Winter Fair, she is a daughter of Glebeview Sir Charles and is bred from Eskechraggan Lady Anita.

Taking home the reserve supreme show championship was Duncan Semple's 11-month-old black British Blue cross bullock from Dippen. Out of a Limousin cross cow, this boy is bound for sale at United Auctions' suckler calf sale, at Stirling in September.

Donald Shaw from Innisaig, Ardfern enjoyed a successful day in the sheep lines where he not only landed the confined Blackface championship, but also the confined show champion and inter-breed sheep. His victor, which was brought out by son Niall Shaw, came in the form of a gimmer by a £500 Happrew sire which was purchased at Dalmally, in 2020 and she is bred out of a ewe by a £1000 Elmscleugh bought at Fort William, in 2017.
