Gareth Scott’s Baby Guiness, a 14-month-old Limousin cross bullock continued on his winning ways to win yet another section championship and supreme overall at Kilbarchan Show.

The Wilodge Merlin-sired entry bred by Jamie Pirie and bought for £4300 at Central Young Farmers’ Calf Rally at Caledonian Marts’ Stirling centre already boasts the silverware for the supreme overall from Dalry and Neilston Shows and the section championships from Beith and Stewarton.

Reserve, selected on a points system by the various breed judges was champion Clydesdale, Pacemuir Molly, a 13-year-old mare from Alan and Evelyn Campbell. She was shown with her gelding foal Pacemuir Tobermory which landed the reserve Clydesdale honours.

The inter-breed sheep supreme was won by a Suffolk ewe from Rigfoot Suffolks, Uplawmoor, shown by David and Emma Tulloch. She is sired by Birness Simba.Winning a compact dairy line up was the Holstein cow in milk, Kaimhill Goldenbell 60, from Hugh Harper, Kaimhill, Bridge of Weir. She was paraded giving 9347kg at 4.21BF% and 3.27P% by young Emma Heywood.

Cheviot (Judge: G Donald). Champion and reserve – W and J Howie, Auchentiber, Kilmacolm. Supreme was a home-bred ewe hogg by a Murdieston sire, shown by A Laird. Champion at Kilmacolm. Reserve was a home-bred ewe lamb also sired by the Murdieston sire. All classes – W and J Howie.

Bluefaced Leicester (Judge: G Donald). Champion and reserve – S McIntyre, Knowes, Lochwinnoch. Champion was a ewe hogg, sired by Burndale R4, out of a Red Cottage J1-sired dam. Reserve was a March-born ewe lamb by the same Burndale ram, out of a dam by the Howlee N2. Reserve at Houston. Ewe, ewe hogg, ewe lamb, tup lamb, group of three – S McIntyre. Aged ram – W and J Howie.

Blackface (Judge: G Donald). Champion and reserve – A and M Fletcher, Laigh Hatton Farm, Bishopton, with a home-bred one-crop ewe by a £7000 Crossflatt tup. Reserve was an April-born ewe lamb, sired by Felix, a son of the Crossflatt ram. All classes – A Fletcher.

Suffolk (Judge: K Morton). Champion and reserve – D and E Tulloch, Rigfoot Suffolks, Uplawmoor. Champion was a three-crop ewe by Birness Simba out of a home-bred ewe. Reserve was a home-bred gimmer by Redbrae Jolly Rancher, out of a Pyeston Phantom-sired dam. Champion at Dalry and Stewarton and reserve at Kilmacolm. All classes – D and E Tulloch.

Texel (Judge: K Morton). Champion – D Wright, Laverock, Kilmacolm, with a February-born tup lamb by Auldhouseburn Godfather, out of a Milnbank ewe purchased at the Carlisle Crackers sale in December. Reserve – R Close, Nethermill, Houston, with a ewe hogg sired by Milnbank Eddie Eagle out of a home-bred ewe. Reserve at Houston. Ewe, ewe hogg, ewe lamb, group of three – R Close. Tup hogg – R Carruth. Tup lamb – D Wright.

AOB sheep (Judge: K Morton). Champion – J Beaton, Glencraig Holding, Kilmacolm, with the Valais Blacknose ewe hogg, Cumberland Kara, purchased from A and A Kirkbride, Cumbria. Sired by Westmorland Gold and out of Blackertor Freya. Reserve – K Drummond, Oaktree Cottage, Neilston, with an April-born Jacob tup lamb sired by Dunmore Isaac. Ewe, tup lamb – K Drummond. Ewe hogg, ewe lamb – J Beaton.

Ayrshire (Judge: A Logan). Champion – F Steel on behalf of D Burns, Bowfield Farm, Howwood, with Low Semple Belle, a fourth calver by Fabaline, that calved in July. All classes – F Steel.

Holstein (Judge: A Logan). Champion – H Harper, Kaimhill, Bridge of Weir, with Kaimhill Goldenbell 60, by Kaimhill Lord, shown by E Heywood. She boasts a lifetime yield of 33,922kg. Reserve – H Harper with Kaimhill Snowdrop 135, a third calver by Westcoast Penman out of Kaimhill Snowdrop 109. She is projected at 9231kg. Reserve at Houston. All classes – H Harper.

Native cattle (Judge: G Walsh). Champion – K MacIntyre, Flatterton, Inverkip, with the 14-month-old Beef Shorthorn heifer, Greenoak Silky, sired by Oakleigh Picasso, out of Oakleigh Nellie. She was paraded five months in calf to a home-bred bull. Reserve – J Hair, South Lissens, Dalry, with Mallowburn Mary Carr, a nine-year-old Hereford cow, bought as a calf at Borderway Mart, Carlisle. Yearling heifer – T Marsh. Two-year-old heifer – K MacIntyre. Cow – J Hair.

Continental cattle (Judge: G Walsh). Champion – T and S Gatherer, Barnsford, Bishopton, with Barnsford Ebiduite, a 15-month-old Charolais heifer, by Elgin Jagger and out of Barnsford Jonquil. Reserve – R Gatherer, Mackies Mill with the Simmental heifer Heathbrow Jenny, a daughter of Scotland Hill Cairo. Calf, cow – R Gatherer. Yearling heifer – T and S Gatherer.

Champion, inter-breed beef champion and supreme overall – G and W Scott, Hawhill, Dalry, with Baby Guiness, a 14-month-old Limousin cross by Wilodge Merlin, purchased for £4300 at Central Young Farmers’ Calf Rally, Caledonian Mart, Stirling. She is a daughter of Bogton Flying Scot and out of dam Rashhill House Betty.Reserve was their gelding foal from the same home, out of the champion, Pacemuir Tobermory, he is sired by Dillars Ollie.
