Applications are invited for an Assistant Trials Officer to join the Crop Trials Team. The Crop Trials Service undertakes research that is intended to underpin the development of resilient and sustainable systems of crop production that are economically viable, but also environmentally and socially acceptable. The postholder will work under the supervision of the Team and will provide support and assist the Trials Officer in all tasks for delivering field trials.

In order to be considered for this role, candidates should have a basic knowledge of arable crops. In addition, knowledge in the use and maintenance of farm machinery as well as previous experience working with arable crops is essential. Due to the nature of the activities, an interest in potatoes, grass and arable land production is desirable.

Occasional evening and weekend work will be required at peak crop sowing and harvesting periods. This role is open to junior candidates and training will be provided if required.
