We are looking for an experienced Dairy Herd Manager for the University of Edinburgh Dairy Herd at Langhill Farm as part of the larger R(D)SVS/Roslin Institute farm estate.

The Opportunity:
The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is looking for a Dairy Herd Manager to oversee the day to day management, and take an active role in running all aspects of a large dairy herd.

Your skills and attributes for success:
• You should have extensive knowledge and experience of practical farming and animal husbandry.
• You must be committed to promoting best practice in animal welfare and have sound skills in animal handling, animal care / welfare.
• You must demonstrate a highly flexible approach to you work and an ability to respond to urgent or unpredictable events 24/7.
• You must possess excellent communication skills as you will be expected to line manage members of staff and coordinate with researchers, veterinary teaching staff and students.
