SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

With a sound knowledge of the issues faced by our natural environment and a keen interest in environmental challenges and management, you will be looking to take the next step in your career. Working with the Environment Team, you will be supporting a range of environmentally focused initiatives and consultancy projects, delivering to fixed deadlines and at the highest level of quality.

Your organised and adaptable nature means you will also be working on national projects delivered by SAC Consulting, and these will be wide and varied across the scope of the environmental sector. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, and motivated to learn across multiple sectors and workstreams, ranging from soil sampling fieldwork, civil engineering projects, and technical areas relating to media and web supported internet delivery platforms. Working with specialist consultants, you will assist the media lead in producing and targeting information across a range of these platforms including our project websites, Twitter and Facebook accounts, making good use of your social media skills.

As either a recent graduate or someone who is already working in the land and/or environmental management sector, you will be helping to deliver a range of existing projects and work with the team to develop new work, targeted to a range of land related clients whilst continuing to build and grow your own consultancy profile.

A degree in an environmental or agricultural discipline or similar experience is essential, preferably with an understanding of environmental issues within the land use sector.
