LECTURER IN ENGINEERING

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) as a lecturer in agricultural engineering. We are looking for an experienced engineer within the agricultural sector, ideally, with a background in delivering training on modern agricultural equipment or experience servicing and repairing modern agricultural machinery.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who will help consolidate and grow SRUC’s engineering education and training provision at our Oatridge Campus. Experience in teaching would be advantageous however, it would not be deemed essential as full teacher training will be offered.

An attractive remuneration package, pension and holiday entitlement (60 days) will be offered to the successful candidate.

The successful candidates will have proven skills in the service, maintenance, diagnostics and repair of agricultural machinery, including harvesting equipment. They will be qualified to at least SCQF level 6 (equivalent level 3 in England) in land based engineering and have attended manufacturer training programmes.

A clean UK Driving Licence and/or the ability to drive a minibus (UK licence category D) would be desirable as travel to remote areas not served by public transport may be necessary.
