A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated couple on the Isle of Oronsay Estate, Inner Hebrides, Argyll.


The Isle of Oronsay comprises several residential properties including the Augustinian Oronsay Priory, farm outbuildings and around 595 hectares (1470 acres) of grassland and rough grazing, which is let to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). Oronsay lies half a mile to the south of the Isle of Colonsay connected by The Strand (tidal causeway), a three-hour car ferry or half hour flight from Oban. Steeped in history, Oronsay offers the successful candidates an amazing lifestyle on an island location and the opportunity to enjoy all that the west coast of Scotland offers.


The roles:
• General property management.
• Hands on housekeeping of the family home, delivering a high standard of service to the owner.
• Managing and supervising contractors and volunteers, working closely with the estate owner.
• Day-to-day responsibilities for the management of the buildings, walled garden and landscaping.
• Ensure all Health and Safety/fire procedures are followed.
• Provide chauffeuring and on-site security.


The successful candidates will have:
• Proven property management experience along with excellent communication skills.
• Previous experience working on estates, being adaptable and able to use own initiative on a remote and secluded property.
• Boat handling experience.
• A positive ‘can do’ attitude towards co-operation with both internal and external stakeholders.
