SENIOR ENVIRONMENT CONSULTANT

Location: Scotland
Permanent
Salary Range: £37,908 – £44,340 per annum
Ref: CML/CS/026/20

SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Our ambitious and exciting vision is to work at local, national and international levels, leading innovation and sustainable development in agriculture and rural sectors.

As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will already be developing a strong reputation in your discipline, ideally relating to agriculture and rural development planning, although across the environmental management and consulting field generally.

You will have sound practical experience and a wide understanding of the environmental issues in relation to environmental impact assessment (EIA), ideally around agriculture, intensive livestock production or a similar field, and it would be beneficial to bring experience and competencies related to emissions modelling, land capability for agriculture assessments, and sustainable drainage systems.

You will already be working with a high level of autonomy, managing a portfolio of consultancy projects whilst maintaining and building a network of contacts in areas of operations such as agriculture, construction and civil engineering, regulatory and environmental legislation, rural and related industries. You will provide the lead or key support within your area of expertise, and in response to current and new challenges, strengthening the Environment Team. You will be ready to advance your career and work with us to develop new areas of work, in partnership with our existing environmental and carbon management services for the rural sector.

Alongside developing your consultancy portfolio and providing leadership, you will also identify and develop new and emerging work streams, supporting the team to evolve and grow to meet the current and future needs of the market.
