An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative stockperson running 1000 ewes and a growing herd of pedigree suckler cows on adjoining units by the Spittal of Glenshee. The successful candidate would be responsible for the day-to-day management of two hill flocks of equal size comprising blackface and north country cheviot ewes. There will be a focus on growing the Native Aberdeen Angus pedigree herd so relevant cattle experience is essential.


Rhiedorrach Estate is committed to creating a sustainable farming system. Livestock farming is a key and long-term integrated part of the estate management plan and a sustainable and resilient farming enterprise that dovetails with the varied and extensive sporting interests is a key priority.


The successful candidate will have a keen interest in and experience with beef cattle and hill sheep and good working dogs will be essential. The candidate will need to be accustomed to working within a wider team and can expect to rely on assistance from the sporting department for livestock handling and gathering.


The position is ideally suited for an ambitious person and would come with accommodation, competitive salary and a farm vehicle. Positioned in Perthshire, with excellent local schools and all local amenities nearby (Blairgowrie 20 miles, Braemar 15 miles, Perth 35 miles).
